I am now knitting the hood of my sweater, and it's too early to tell how it's turning out. Also, since I am knitting it with acrylic yarn, I'm not sure what the quality will be like either. I've heard a lot of stories about acrylic yarn, and there are many acrylic-haters out there too, so I'm fearing for my dear CPH.
Despite that, after blocking the pieces, they've avtually become softer, and it actually feels alright against my skin too. I think I may be able to get some wear out of this garment, but again, it is made from acrylic yarn, so I don't know how long I'll be able to wear it. After I finish this CPH, I'm going to buy some yarn from Bendigo Woollen Mills and make another CPH- but this time, I'm going try a different method where I'll use a three-needle bind-off to join the armhole seams with the sleeves, and the back shoulder seams with the front shoulder seams [It isn't easy to seam knitting when they have stitches facing different directions]. And I'll probably try needles a size smaller to that in the pattern to get a tighter fabric.
Making the CPH has been fun, and I'm looking foward to making another one for me, oh, and of course, to Marmie
I'm getting stationery sorted out for uni next year, as well as planning what I should take with me to Burwood in January. At the moment, this is what I'm taking:
-Laptop
-A small selection of books [dictionary etc]
-Stationery
-Clothes [of course!!!]
-Printer [This is a maybe]
-Knitting
-External hard-drive [It's got all my music on it!]
-Extra special DVD collection [Maybe at the moment, but I can't bear to leave them behind]
-Legend of Camelot 2010 calendar [Did I tell you that I bought a calendar?]
Yes, that's about what I've listed. It's looks quite a bit, but not that much when you think about it; you have to remember that I'm moving out.
I've suddenly lost my motivation to write. Maybe it's this song I'm listening to.
:'(
Bye for now, but of course, not forever.
Sonia.
